A collection of prom dresses are available for students completely free of charge in the school’s attendance office. Because prom on April 21 is approaching, the school has collected a variety of sizes and colors of dresses accessible. The dresses have been saved from recent years (as students dry clean and return them after use), but some of the newer styles of dresses have been collected from closed dress stores such as Wedding Warehouse, and Brides ‘n Maids in Santa Rosa. According to The Guardian, the average American family spent 919 dollars on a teen going to prom in 2015. Because of the unrealistic expectations for some families to pay more money for prom than they are able, the attendance office also has shoes and has bags to offer students who either cannot afford a prom dress or simply prefer to use their money elsewhere.
